Mirror Work

A mirror holds LOTS of power.  The hardest thing you will ever have to do, is face who stares back at you.  Confronting yourself and who you truly are inside, is one of THE most challenging things anyone can do.  We receive negative messages through our eyes. We can hide our pain from ourselves and others, but it’s hard to deny the truth when you look deep into your eyes. This is probably why we subconsciously avoid looking into our eyes in the mirror, when we are deeply hurt.

Sure… we look in the mirror to fix our hair, brush our teeth, check to see if we look presentable every day but, how often… do we REALLY look inside, of WHO is staring back at us?  Do you even recognize yourself?

What story do your eyes tell?  What hides way underneath the surface?  What pain, what resentment, what feelings and emotions do we hide from the world and ourselves, on a daily basis?  Do we keep pretending that life is grand, when all around us things are further out of control than they ever were?

Change is tough, I’m not EVEN going to try and sugar-coat it.  It’s HARD to face that person who CAN NOT and WILL NOT lie to you and speaks truth; no matter what the cost.  It’s up to us to see the things we often hide – confront it – cry, kick, and scream if we have to – then cut the cords that bind this pain inside.  We must USE this experience to better ourselves, going forward.

Today’s full moon is the perfect time for us to open up the old suitcases we’ve literally; been dragging around for years and clean them out for good.  Once they’re cracked open, light is shed on the darkness and we can see what we’ve been holding on to for so long.  It’s much easier to purge the painful experiences once we can clearly identify them.

Do your mirror work today.  Take the time to go within and discover what has been holding you back.  Write a list of inventory you find as you search through the darkness.  Acknowledge the pain.  Realize it.  Thank the situations for what it’s taught you and let that pain go once and for all.  Burn the piece of paper, say a prayer of full release and allow forgiveness and healing to finally take place.

Here is a prayer I use:

At this full moon, I AM releasing all that is not in alignment with my greatest and highest good.

I AM choosing to be free. I AM choosing an end to karma by forgiving everyone who has wronged me and asking forgiveness of all whom I have wronged, in all dimensions, on all timelines: past, present and future.

I release all beliefs, persons and situations that attempt to blind me to my wholeness and power.

I AM releasing all that distracts me from my life’s purpose, which has been planned by my soul prior to this incarnation. I willingly let go of all that no longer serves my greatest and highest good.

I AM releasing all beliefs, persons and situations that have prevented me from seeing the array of abundance and opportunities that continuously flow to me. I AM ready to receive it NOW and allow all I desire to come to me.

I accept control of the circumstances of my life, at the same time surrendering to your divine will. I gratefully receive and accept your guidance.  There is nothing that can prevent me from moving forward.

I claim my sovereignty.

I AM free.

And so it is.

Don’t be afraid to clean the fog off the mirror and see ALL of who you are and what makes you, YOU.  This is a time of new beginnings and you WILL find who you have been searching for all of your life, if you just look within.
